Electronic Instrumentation and Technology (EIT) provides contract electronics design and manufacturing services, primarily to OEMs (original equipment manufacturers). The company's services include circuit design, prototyping, procurement, production and quick-turn assembly, along with in-circuit testing. Its EIT South division provides cable assembly, machining and sheet metal fabrication, and assembles printed circuit boards. Customers are located in some 30 countries worldwide in the medical and analytical instrumentation, process control, and communications industries. EIT was founded in 1977 by chairman and CTO Joe T. May, who is also a state representative in Virginia.
