For decades, Kindred Hospitals has been an industry leader in delivering outstanding care to some of the nation’s most medically complex patients. Driven by a team of expert caregivers, Kindred’s national network of long-term acute care (LTAC) hospitals is dedicated to helping seriously ill and injured patients heal, recover and regain independence in their daily lives while also providing a personal experience in our facilities that exceeds the expectations of patients and their loved ones.
Kindred Hospitals is a part of ScionHealth, a healthcare company that launched in 2021 and that strives to provide quality-driven, patient-centered acute and post-acute hospital solutions. ScionHealth is focused on driving innovation, serving its communities, and investing in people and technology to deliver compassionate patient care and excellent health outcomes. Based in Louisville, Kentucky, ScionHealth operates 79 hospital campuses in 25 states, including the Kindred network of 61 long-term acute care hospitals.
At Kindred Hospitals, we are dedicated to providing world-class care to patients in the communities where we operate, and in doing so, we aim to help improve health overall in those communities. Through an initiative of the ScionHealth Institute of Inclusion and Equity, Kindred Hospitals also focus on supporting nonprofit organizations that are making a positive impact on the communities where our team members live and work.
Through the Kindred Foundation, we are able to maximize resources to support worthwhile community activities – giving our locations the ability to participate at a higher level in non-profit organizations they already support in their communities across the United States.
While we support many worthwhile causes, we have focused our efforts on developing strong partnerships with two key healthcare-related, non-profit organizations that are closely aligned with our business – the American Lung Association and the American Heart Association. These organizations have missions that are consistent with ours and through our involvement we can help them raise awareness about their important causes and aid these groups in funding research.
In addition, we have committed dollar-for-dollar matching funds for the Kindred Hospital locations that participate and fund-raise for events sponsored by these organizations and many others.
