Cons
Sometimes feels like you are not equitably paid for the amount of work you produce while others are.
Amara is an organization with great integrity, super smart staff and leadership, and a warm and fun culture. My supervisor is supportive, there are opportunities for advancement and professional development, and it's inspiring to be a part of supporting amazing kids and families. Benefits are decent and in many positions staff are able to flex time as needed as long as the work is getting done.
Cons
Amara is a small nonprofit, so salaries are not impressive.
Great, smart people. Really supportive and congenial culture, strong board of directors. Long history of best practices and innovation in foster adoption.
Cons
Lots of growth during the past few years has created some tension and challenges internally; there isn't always a clear chain of command, or proper HR support for issues.
