Pros
I have been working at Clearwater Research for 7 plus years. In that time I have seen different management changes and I currently like the people overseeing the work right now. I find it interesting reading some of the comments on here. I have never seen the staff be anything other than professional with the interviewing staff. Quite the opposite. I see and hear quite a few of my fellow co-workers complaining about the staff and working conditions only because they are unhappy that they didn't get time off that they wanted or that they got in trouble for being constantly absent from the job. To also see people complaining about the pay and not getting pay raises? In the years I have been here, I have gotten raises when we had lots of work and good years, and in years when it was dialed back, they had to put raises on hold until more work was available. The sad part is that I have seen company equipment vandalized and torn apart by employees, but then they expect the company they are physically destroying to give them extra money? I know I would hate to give more money to people who were destroying my equipment. Also, I don't know what company doesn't want their employees on their personal cell phones messing around instead of focusing on work. Other than some employees who seem to hold a grudge against a company they didn't properly research before working for, this is a great environment with people who seem to care. Not all companies are 100% perfect and lots of companies have their own issues with regards to management, working conditions, pay and benefits, and anything else you can think of. Clearwater Research seems to try to do right by their employees, as long as those same employees come in and actually try to do right by the company that employees them. Mutual respect both ways people. As for the work, I enjoy knowing that I make a difference with the data I collect for the CDC. I don't have to upsell people on anything other than taking the survey. It's not like working at Wells Fargo where you try to scam people into bank accounts they don't need or Tele Performance where you sell people on more phone lines than what they can afford. As long as you actually try at the job, it's an easy job. And the fact that I get to read books at my station while I am working makes this jobs loads better than any other job. I know they have struggled with finding more full time positions for people who work here, since the work doesn't allow for everyone to have a full time position, but I had no trouble getting one within a year of working here. It wasn't that hard. I showed up to work, actually put in effort and I was offered a full time position pretty easy. If someone that wants a full time position here and doesn't get one, it's because they didn't put in the work required for them be offered full time. The facility is clean. The work isn't that demanding. They aren't too hard on performance metrics except for attendance and utilization (how much an employee is working on the clock). The supervisory and mentoring staff all seem to want to help and I like talking with all of them.
Cons
So once again, other than some employees who seem to possibly hate any job they work at, there are a couple things they could improve upon. I wish they would push a bit harder to get jobs. When I first started it seems like they had lots of work, but that seems to be dwindling a bit. I wish they had more cameras in the facility, because I have had a couple things stolen over the years from other employees who have worked here. They could be a bit more clear on how to improve on certain goals they ask us to accomplish. They need to find some money in the budget to get a real incentive program going and to maintain that program. Maybe start doing more potlucks and team activities again. Those were always fun.
