Pros

A great first job, well paid and amazing hours, a good foot in the door into the world of publishing. The name on your CV will always get you an interview going forward and you learn a lot about sales. Also the people are great!

Cons

Selling classified print advertising is incredibly difficult in the digital age, promotion within the department is based on how long you have been there instead of merit, company as a whole generally fearful of change, difficult to move out of the department although most people manage if they are hungry enough and a lot of people go on to be very successful from this

Pros

You’re wealthy enough to be relaxed, but not wealthy enough to be careless.

Cons

but NYC’s costs prevent true luxury unless income is much higher.

Pros

Great to be in proximity to such amazing brands like Vogue, Vanity Fair and the New Yorker

Cons

Pay is absolutely criminal unless you're "bonus eligible." Another billion dollar company crying poverty. Also, absolutely zero possibility of advancement.
