Pros
Millions will be spent in 2022 on capitol improvements / Wages are at or above average for the area / Interesting fast paced work environment / Three weeks vacation to start / Family owned business / When the workload has stalled occasionally over the years I have never been laid off / Management is approachable and responsive when challenges occur (though some persistence may be required) 401K match is very generous / I would term the health insurance to be exceedingly affordable / The plant also has an employee clinic that is basically free and GNC offers some nifty perks like a $175 fitness bonus , longevity bonus and Xmas bonus. The usual paid holidays plus a few extra paid days off, like Xmas Eve and the day after Thanksgiving.
Cons
The schedule is set for this summer with the possibility of a requirement to work every third Saturday This is great if you are seeking overtime; not so great if you want every Saturday off--that seems to be the major beef with this place / On the bright side one can sometimes give a Saturday away to someone seeking the time and a half hours. The overtime required in the past has been horrendous but management, it appears, has seen the light and have done wonders to remedy the situation as it has lead to disgruntleness and people quitting. Also on the bright side: The shift on Saturday offers a catered meal! A sub sandwich, deluxe burgers or perhaps Pizza from the Fill-Inn Station. You will not go home hungry after working a Saturday shift at GNC.
