Pros
- It was a strong vision - Nice office
Cons
First of all, we have been threatened by the leadership team to not post reviews on glass door (‘it doesn’t look good for the company reputation and ceo’). Well. If alarming our input through the internal engagement surveys and direct feedback is not working and is being silenced I guess this is our only way of getting through. Here are some examples of what’s going on: - The company has pushed out only strong females. The first ones being the actual co-founder of the company who was the brain behind the whole technology and building up the full RnD team, the second one was the Director of Marketing and Product, who was also the most competent, empathetic and appreciated leader in the whole leadership team. But clearly both were seen as threats as the CEO was never able to handle their opinions, viewpoints or higher competence. - Next in line of women to be pushed out are all the Product Managers and Office Manager. PM’s are key for the business especially as new products are at the core of the company strategy. But also there, they were considered to be too opinionated. And of course the official reason here is cost cutting. But there are many roles (mainly held by men) that do not add any business value to the company. (Some of them being; head of strategy who unfortunately knows nothing about the industry or strategy, cfo who has no clue of the FMCG financial models, supply chain managers who have no relevant experience in the field and work 40% for full time salaries etc. - The CEO prefers working with male colleagues and has had difficulties with pretty much every woman in the company. He just degraded the head of HR from the leadership team and has collaboration difficulties with CTO. Both being strong and opinionated women. - The CEO moved to the US and asked the employees to lie on his behalf about it, as his VISA had not yet been approved. - More and more people avoid the office and chose to work from elsewhere. - The silence culture at the company is getting worse every month. Nobody dares to speak their mind because everyone knows that if you don’t agree with the CEO you’re out. Management by fear. - Business decisions are constantly changing - There is no strategy in place - Salaries are below market value (especially RnD) - The Head Of’s are being asked to lie to the board about business results/sales reflections/financial status - Loyal and hardworking people in the RnD team are being treated badly and having their roles degraded without any logical explanation. Clear favorism behind the decisions. - The company offers a coach who is forcing her sessions on the employees and if being neglected she’s being passive aggressive. People are afraid to say no to her. And unfortunately there’s no confidentiality in the sessions. Everything transfers to the CEO and there’s plenty of proof of this. (Maybe not surprising as she also has shares in the company.)
