Horrible experience with extreme hours and toxic culture

Pros

Proximity to my old apartment.

Cons

Where do I begin. I will try my best to be unbiased. While I was there I had a horrible experience. Beware of working at a startup. I was putting in 80-85hrs weekly, 7 days a week. An early day for me was a 12-13hr day. Everyone looked out for themselves so you had to make sure to "CYA" for everything. During company meetings you would be thrown under the bus and embarrassed in front of everyone. It was a sink or swim kind of mentality and learning was like drinking water through a firehose. It also came off as a very clique-y company with most of higher up (CEO, & his cousins, COO) are very close and have known each other for a long time. Due to my experience I ended up my appetite, losing weight, and losing sleep. My last straw was when I pulled an 18.5hr shift (started work at 7:30am Friday morning and got off 2:00am Saturday morning). Spoke to upper management about the work load but left that meeting feeling like Being overworked was seen as "ambitious". After that I left the company.
