What is the hiring process like at ASML?

      ASML reviews

      Toxic Environment

      Security manager
      Former employee
      Veldhoven
      Recommend
      CEO approval
      Business outlook

      Pros

Good Benefits, Good Salary, Smart people

      Cons

      - Toxic environment. - Lack of transparency from leadership team. - Lack of trust in senior management and leadership team. - Lack of recognition. - No investment on training or conferences - A lot of politics to decide who need a promotion/raise with limited power to managers. - Bad hiring process, where people come for a role and are redirected to do something else, outside of their expertise. - Excessive amount of people with burnout at work. - No proper career path in place or guidance.

      Toxic management

      Senior software design engineer
      Former employee
      Wilton, CT
      Recommend
      CEO approval
      Business outlook

      Pros

A lot of smart engineers who (for the most part) will take time out of their busy schedules to help.

      Cons

You will work overtime to make impossible deadlines with no appreciation, then get blamed for other peoples mistakes by senior staff/management, who will then joke in front of you about how they blame software for all of their problems. Bad location with high housing costs. No role clarity or any real training, and you'll be moved around on projects to rush work with no explanation. Process is horrible and time consuming but if you make any suggestion to improve upon it you risk being retaliated against by arrogant senior staff.

      Cons

huge company, complicated process to learn

      Great company to work

      Business planning analyst (bpa)
      Current employee
      Recommend
      CEO approval
      Business outlook

      Pros

Many complex process and high volume

      Cons

Sometimes decision making is slow due to complexity

      Process Hell

      Software engineer 3
      Current employee
      Wilton, CT
      Recommend
      CEO approval
      Business outlook

      Pros

Good work-life balance, assuming you have a well-staffed team.

      Cons

The software development work is bland and tedious. 80% of the work is process: endless alignments, complex tooling, etc. Poor career development. The skills, excluding soft skills, built at this company are ASML-specific. Software development skills will not be developed through work; dependent on team placement.

      1

      Great company to work for

      Chief product owner
      Former employee
      Eindhoven
      Recommend
      CEO approval
      Business outlook

      Pros

ASML values their employees a lot. Flexible working hours. It is very diverse with a lot of different perspectives which help the company grow.

      Cons

Big hierarchy as the company is quite big, bad HR process execution, needed qualification of employees decreased lately.

Not a true engineering role. Role can be interesting in Veldhoven

      Proto-engineer
      Current employee
      Wilton, CT
      Recommend
      CEO approval
      Business outlook

      Pros

ASML as company is full of a lot of smart individuals, especially at the IC level. You get to work with some of the best

      Cons

I worked at wilton which felt like a corporate hell-hole. Decisions often got made with no input from employees. Proto position was just basically a tech role with more work(by that i mean more button pushing not more responsibility or interesting work). So in a way, worse than being a tech. Pay isnt great compared to other roles and career growth slow. Most people got burnt out, wanted to leave only to find not a lot of good doors were open. The ones that left to find any role they could, hated their new role.
