What is the hiring process like at Adobe?

      Adobe reviews

A company full of bias which about which people don’t talk

      Senior software engineer
      Current employee
      Bengaluru
      Recommend
      CEO approval
      Business outlook

      Pros

Decent salary Free food Decent benefits

      Cons

Poor Hikes Unimaginable favourism form hiring till the day to day life. Egotistical management Adobe is a place for which I can clearly say, all that glitters is not gold. Not much innovation at any level. No say of Indian management or employees. Final call is always given from US. During hiring process, somebody’s relative/friend is picked irrespective of how good the other candidates are (observed multiple times in last 5+ years) People who shout get recognition rather than who actually work. You have to keep smiling and always ready for saying yes to every decision. Managers who literally torture their team members, get promoted and no action is taken again such unethical behaviour even after official complaints (have seen atleast 5 such instances and I know names of such people too)

      Good Place to Work

      Pros

Lot of good teams and lot of good work happen across teams and orgs in Adobe. Great Culture and great people.

      Cons

Lack of Transaprency , lack of hiring process.

Good company but disorganized Talent Acquisition team

      Pros

Strong brand name, innovative and overall good to work for

      Cons

The hiring team doesn't respect your time and are completely unresponsive

      Bad management, poor performance system

      CEO approval
      Business outlook

      Pros

      Good office and employee welfare

      Cons

The company did internal layoff time to time and have slow hiring process for the sales team with job posting for show but no hiring. The performance system and account allocation is very poor. Accounts get transferred to the most loved employee. Unrealistic kpi on small account given. Manager and likes to micromanage and verbally abuse. Toxic environment where hiring is only for short period and manager make people leave "indirectly". No career opportunity. Slow system with manual process. My bdr use up all the time for marketing task without getting credit.

      Pros

The selection process was good, and I liked it

      Business outlook

      Pros

      - Met some amazing, very intelligent people. - Training and onboarding great, hiring process smooth. - Given a lot of responsibility from day one.

      Cons

      - Turnover among employees was very fast, with people leaving and coming in all the time. - A lot of workplace politics.

It is a company that cares

      Group manager
      Former employee
      San Francisco, CA
      Recommend
      CEO approval
      Business outlook

      Pros

Great company and great mentors as long as you end up in a good organization. So, do your due diligence appropriately during the hiring process and talk to as many people as you can. They do care about their employee, the culture is amazing and very strong, the push to improve and flex is there! Truly amazing experience

      Cons

It tends to have too many re-org... likely one every six months. At times you do not get impacted but at times the churns is there. Brace yourself and navigate through it and focus on your work. The reward is there

Great team culture, limited and slow promotion opps

      Senior manager
      Current employee
      Lehi, UT
      Recommend
      CEO approval
      Business outlook

      Pros

Adobe has a great team culture and is very employee friendly with regard to benefits, compensation and days off.

      Cons

Promotions are politically based rather than on merit. Internal job postings are a waste of time and usually the hiring manager already has someone handpicked for the role. Leadership is tone deaf to concerns and has a “take it or leave it” attitude.

      Got progressively worse

      Business development representative (bdr)
      Former employee
      London, England
      Recommend
      CEO approval
      Business outlook

      Pros

When I started at Adobe things were looking great, with systems and tools that worked well and a simple enough process for BDRs. There were also: -Good benefits -Mental health bursaries for gym/sports gear/etc -Eye health bursary for checks and eyewear -Hybrid work -Genuine people in team -Access to Adobe products

      Cons

As time went on things started to go down hill and the cracks started to show. First, there is no opportunity to progress (max you can achieve is 'Senior BDR' and good luck getting anything past that). The 'knowledge gap' is too big between BDR and AE or BDR and SAM. When those jobs open, BDRs are never seriously considered. Your chances of success are limited to whatever patch is assigned to you. Some BDRs cruise through exceeding targets with little effort, other BDRs hustle and fall short. The inbound/outbound disparity accross patches made it an uneven playing field. Quota allocation makes no sense. Low targets are allocated to the high achieving patches, and high targets are allocated to the harder patches covering the less popular solutions. There is constant restructuring and an unclear vision for some solutions, especially Adobe Commerce. BDRs are now also being held accountable for booking opportunities, which has always been the responsibility of the AE. The switch from Salesforce to Dynamics 360 was chaos. We went from a system that worked well, to one that is awful in every way, elongates the admin process by hours and was imposed on us without taking any consideration of our requirements. Managers make a difference. My original manager was great (a bit hands-off but was always there when needed and genuinley helpful and encouraging), the newer manager is a micromanaging nightmare who pretends to care about the team.
