      Cons

Great company overall, QA Chemistry is toxic

      Research scientist
      Former employee
      Grand Rapids, MI
      Recommend
      CEO approval
      Business outlook

      Pros

Great pay and benefits, generous vacation time.

      Cons

Chemistry lab is a toxic environment perpetuated by management that is both inept and sometimes hostile. They do not promote employees based on merit and qualifications. They mostly promote based on who they are friends with and who they like, this creates a toxic culture as many people get put into positions they should not be in. Management listens to gossip whether it is true or not. Many of the managers are younger and have little to no management experience.

Amway is bleeding out and no one knows how to stop it

      Customer service representative (csr)
      Current employee
      Ada, MI
      Recommend
      CEO approval
      Business outlook

      Pros

Decent pay for the area, coworkers are mostly positive and optimistic when not talking about work, benefits are good

      Cons

no forward mobility as a CSR, networking outside of customer service is non-existent, Anyone is a salary position is fearful of losing their jobs due to constant restructuring, Management is fake in personality and are inflexible even though they state they are. Job responsibilities keep changing to the point where no one is doing the job they were hired for (management is deaf to CSR stresses), Employee moral is plummeting and know one in management seems to care. People are leaving and no one is getting hired to replace them (CSRs are overworked and stressed out)

It’s a safe job, but pays below similar positions at other companies

      Packaging technician
      Current employee
      Ada, MI
      Recommend
      CEO approval
      Business outlook

      Pros

Safe job, good environment, company store, pretty cool culture

      Cons

Low pay, not being competitive enough with companies in the area that have similar positions which means retaining less talent and not attracting new strong talent. They also haven’t learned the importance of benefits such as child care reimbursement, lots of businesses in the area have caught on and added. That attracts people who would otherwise wise pass.

      Cool it with the DEI

      changing organization

      Senior supervisor
      Former employee
      Taipei
      Recommend
      CEO approval
      Business outlook

      Pros

competitive salary with good employee benefits

      Cons

not flat organization and takes long time for C level decision making

      So many restructuring periods

      Industrial designer 2
      Former employee
      Grand Rapids, MI
      Recommend
      CEO approval
      Business outlook

      Pros

Excellent middle managers, good benefits, 50% 401K match of what you put in (up to 6% of your salary), decent bonus, nice coworkers. FTO and hybrid work environment

      Cons

Executive leadership was a mess. I went through 4 restructuring periods in 5 years. The morale was very low, there was never enough budget for projects and we always wondered who was getting let go next.
