      A department changed for the worst

      Pros

      I worked at this company for over a decade. As a family-owned business, it once provided a genuinely positive and supportive work environment. My team worked harmoniously, collaborated effectively, and consistently delivered strong results. Over the years, I experienced the value of teamwork, dedication, and a culture that encouraged employees to succeed together. Those qualities made it a place where people could grow professionally while contributing meaningfully to the company’s success.

      Cons

      Everything changed in my department when a new director was hired. What was once a healthy, collaborative, and productive environment became increasingly toxic under this leadership. The impact was significant—many long-time employees, people who genuinely loved their jobs and were deeply committed to the company, chose to leave because the workplace had become unsustainable. It is deeply saddening to see dedicated employees pushed out of roles they valued because of one individual’s leadership style. These were experienced team members whose contributions helped shape the department’s success over many years. I believe this situation deserves serious attention from upper management. Leadership should not be evaluated solely on sales performance, but also on how teams are treated, supported, and retained. A department’s success should never come at the cost of employee well-being and morale.
