      Cons

Forced overtime, mixed loads, poor loading, communication, treated like a number, out dated procedures, poor equipment

Dont be fooled by the money

      Warehouse operative
      Former employee
      Portbury, England
      Recommend
      CEO approval
      Business outlook

      Pros

Money, cheap canteen food, some decent staff.

      Cons

Forced overtime. Disciplined if you have family or sickness. Huge gap of trust between operatives and management. No career progression. Senior managers refuse to accept criticism. List goes on..

You earn the money you work for.

      Business outlook

      Pros

Pros of the job is of course the pay, but it then depends on how you look at work life when it comes to pros and cons. Being realistic, if you enjoy driving a class 2, multi drop, meeting people, regular customers (free food and drinks), chance of a regular route or area at least, lone working then you've got it in the bag working for brakes. I personally have had a very good experience with the management team, they have been very understanding, sympathetic and helpful where needed. Bottom line is, you come in, work your hours, do things properly and you cant go wrong, simple. Also, staff sales, tomahawk steaks, 40% off, yes please. Plenty of savings on what would be our weekly shop, including reduce prices on website stock.

      Cons

Some of the downsides is the hours, yes we have long days but at the same time, if you know how tacho rules work then you cant argue doing a long day, just know you'll be owed hours at the end of the reference period, here's to extra days off! Another con is that there is no overtime, not if you work your full allowance of tacho hours, if you work less hours, I.e a short route regularly, then you will have hours spare for overtime.

Very disorganised and poor treatment of staff

      Hgv driver
      Former employee
      Warrington, North West England, England
      Recommend
      CEO approval
      Business outlook

      Pros

Cheap food , pension the usual

      Cons

Management expect you to do overtime for free all the time regardless of offering overtime as extra pay at the start. By the time you've done all your hours the salary is close to minimum wage and you have no life due to pushing close to maximum hours.

      Awful

      Current employee

      CEO approval
      Business outlook

      Pros

Not bad pay for the job

      Cons

Unpaid overtime No equipment to the job Do everyone else’s job on top of Unmanageable workload Management don’t care about staff
