How was the interview at Datadog?

      Datadog reviews

      Take these reviews seriously

      Commercial account executive
      Current employee
      Denver, CO
      Recommend
      CEO approval
      Business outlook

      Pros

      - Good company to work for if you're NOT in sales - mediocre benefits - Comp structure is pretty generous, if you get lucky with inbounds and a decent patch, there's some real money to be made here

      Cons

This is hands down the absolute worst company I've ever worked for. I wish I would've taken the Sales Glassdoor reviews seriously, but they talked a big game during the interview process, and I made the mistake of trusting them. Don't be me. This job has sucked the absolute soul out of me, and there's no sign of it getting any better any time soon. Here's a list of the worst offenses so far; - Super cliquey teams that you WILL be excluded from - Extremely competetive mindset that drives wedges between the teams and teammates - Absolutely zero leniancy for anything - Managment will absolutely play favorites with more tenured reps - There is no consideration for inbounds, you will be compared to people getting 3-5 closed/won deals from inbounds ONLY with no consideration - Management talks a big game of caring, but at the end of the day they don't. There isn't any assistance, they tell you you're doing great until suddenly you're the worst employee they've ever had, and they let you know. - Absolutely NO ONE is hitting quota, maybe 5% of the floor and most of them are hitting it due to inbounds - Patches are awful. They force you to work accounts that have no use case or budget, and get upset when you try to ask about getting new accounts - The micromanagment culture is absolutely rampant. If you don't do things or say things exactly how they want you to, you're in trouble - On the flip side, if you ask for too much advice or feedback, they'll sit you down and have a long talk about how you're not an "indapendent rep" - Turnover rate is astronomical. There's a reason all these people keep leaving. Please, please PLEASE take these reviews seriously, and don't make the same mistake I did. Run far, far away from this company and never look back.

      Difficult long interview

      Pros

Pay? Maybe - everybody looks overworked there.

      Cons

Long difficult interview process. False advertising: $135 k to 175k but they never offer more than minimum.
