Pros
Hour lunch Getting to do faces and practice makeup
Cons
Management heavily micromanaged You can’t do a full face of makeup if you don’t at least sale 3-5 products which are expensive. Yet people come to get their makeup done. The communication is horrible they told me I had to travel over an hour away for meetings but didn’t communicate that with me before the hiring process. Sales expectations and if you fail to meet them they treat you horribly! Lots of shady business that goes on there. High turnover Making you work non stop sometimes no off days in the same week! Which is illegal in some instances but they just want money. A lot more stuff but it’s too much to write.
Pros
You get a lunch break.
Cons
First of all the interview process is really quick, but once you get hired on you have to apply for a Dillards credit card. That’s the stipulation for employment. They used to have a wall of shame if you didn’t get credit card apps approved. Now that I think about it is probably illegal and a form of hazing. Management will sexually harass you and threaten to shove things up your backside.
Pros
Great and fast hiring process
Cons
Don’t really have any cons
Pros
Pays more than Macy's, always hiring, no experience required, benefits offered to all full time employees.
Cons
Very Toxic, extremely low morale, management is very messy and will engage in gossip with employees, especially if they don't like u and you are meeting your sales goals. They will purposely sabotage you if you're not their favorite but you are doing well. It happened to me and she made the whole work environment very uncomfortable for us to work in causing 2 people (2 of the top sellers I might add) to quit over it. Sad part is that upper management was notified and did absolutely nothing about it but tell the associates not tell tell anyone what they experienced. They lie to customers for example we had 3 or 4 raffles during my time there and every one of them was a sham. They got all the customers to spend more money or buy items they weren't originally even going to purchase so that they could enter to win these gift sets or baskets, and they NEVER once even actually drew a name. I was shocked when I found out this is what they always did. It made me think twice about all raffles now. They would even reuse the old baskets for new raffles bc of course they still had them bc they never drew for a winner. I ended up quitting behind all this mess. When I started I thought it would be a good company to work for bc it has been around forever but I see now at least at the Willowbrook Mall location they scam that's how they are still going strong.
Pros
My name is Hope Brown and I absolutely love my job at DILLARDS store 0167.I started out as a business manager in Clinique in 2022..Then in March of 2024, I went to Fragrance. I love fragrance so much, I have a passion for it. I love making videos for our fragrance department ,focusing on visual ,meeting new people such as Representatives for each fragrance line . I also love having a relationship with my customers and making sure they’re satisfied with their fragrance..

Cons
Horrible benefits they have no maternity leave you just get unpaid vacation and sick leave. Can be very toxic with commission and managers are always super intense.
Pros
I honestly can't even think of one.
Cons
I was considering putting 'the hourly pay' and 'the amount of hours' in the 'Pros', but when you consider Dillard's ultimate dilemma. Absolutely not. The problem with this company is how closely intertwined the hours scheduled and the expectations in sales are. Imagine you working at a pool. In order to work at the pool you have to pick up so many weights per hour from the bottom in order to get paid the amount you make hourly. At this pool, it is divided in sections your coworkers are in. You are thrown in with the expectation of picking up so many weights per hour. You know how to swim very well, the only thing is, they didn't teach you how to pick up the weights(that would require hours). Also, there is all types of debris in the way you have to make time to clean up. Not only that, oddly, the weights on your side are the heaviest on the floor. You dabble onto your coworkers' side (since their weight are lighter) or try to get their help, but you are met with down right hostility, trash talk, or insults thrown at you for asking to help. You think about contacting the higher ups at the pool but, you realize they aren't actually even "in charge". Your coworker that picks up more weights was actually given more authority than even the person(manager) that hired you. You also realize there are hired "pool cleaners", but they are all related somehow, don't speak your language, and all of them slack on their job leaving your side absolutely filthy since technically you are an "outsider". You don't get paid to clean, bicker with "coworkers" that are supposed to be on your team, not to mention, you haven't even had the chance to properly train so you end up being set for failure from the start, you drown. An unfortunate sacrifice because this pool company ONLY cares about the amount of weights picked up. It's not the manager's fault. This (pool)company is unorganized, unethical, they hired you as a placeholder for a position with an extremely high turnover rate. But hey, at least they encouraged you to sign up for a pool membership as a part of your benefits. There are many issues, but hopefully you get the gist.
Pros
Showed me the buying process they use
Cons
Not collaborative and did not feel I learned as much as I wanted to
