Edgewell’s instability in North America is due to high turnover in leadership and a top down culture driven by reactionary short term thinking. Layoffs, plant closings, brands being sold… it’s a poorly run company.

The leadership and culture is not what the advertise. The company has limited funds to achieve the goals they set forth while still demanding goal accomplishment.

Not many cons to share

Edgewell is a good, smaller CPG company. Great culture, good brands. Culture really values relationships and tenure. I've noticed many employees with very tenured careers.

Limited resources to spend against competitors like P&G.

Perks include a good car lease scheme, free products and lots of extra clubs to get involved with e.g. DEI, Wellness, Social, etc.

Very poor leadership, with no change for a long time. Culture of blaming each other for failures, very poor budgets which don't let you compete with competitors, and a very backwards culture that isn't open to trying new things or changing. Lots of indirect discrimination takes place and HR may as well not exist as they turn a blind eye even when it happens in the very room they are sitting in. Sadly, its not uncommon to be berated and made an example of in meetings.

The company itself is great. Great benefits, pay transparency, for the most part kind people.

Shortly after joining Edgewell I realized my manager was terrible - and that this was a known problem throughout the company. When I put in my two weeks notice shortly after joining, I was told that the person they had hired before me had quit after just two weeks, and that HR is aware of this person being a poor leader. It's wrong to hire people into roles where they are bound to be miserable/not succeed because of a known management problem - innocent people are giving up good jobs to work at Edgewell, and prefer unemployment in this economy over sticking around. Keeping bad leaders around hurts people - this is just one example of how.
