Pros
There are TONS of learning opportunities at Hopebridge. I'm a relatively new BCBA but I feel like I've learned so much more at Hopebridge than in all my time at any other company. There is a lot of resources to help BCBAs out. Hopebridge's clinical structure provides a regional BCBA that comes around to each center every month or so to provide overlapping supervision with each BCBA. I've found this to be very helpful because it gives us a fresh perspective on any issues we might be having with patients. There are opportunities to advance to lead BCBA, senior BCBA, assistant clinical director, and then clinical director, however, both clinical director positions are dependent on the size of the center from what I understand, so those opportunities may not be guaranteed. There is a big emphasis on compassionate care and assent based treatment at Hopebridge. I also LOVE that all of the patients are in center (at least at my location) because I'm used to driving for multiple hours a day to get to patients. They also recently introduced work from home days where you get 2 per month.
Cons
With Hopebridge being such a large company, there is a lot of red tape when it comes to any decision making so no decisions really happen at the center level. There's also hiring and patient quotas they make centers try to meet very quickly which creates a heavier workload for BCBAs between training new hires, conducting intial evaluations, and onboarding patients. There are a lot of expectations and responsibilities for BCBAs on a daily basis which makes creating a work/life balance difficult. There is a lot of emphasis on BCBAs to conduct parent trainings every two weeks with families which can be draining. We also have to lead group trainings every two weeks with all of the RBTs in our "pods" which is just another thing to add to the workload. I do enjoy doing those but it's usually my last priority so it's a struggle to come up with quality content. Lastly: we use Rethink. Nothing else needs to be said there.
