What is the work environment like at Inkitt?

      Pros

-The team is incredibly driven, which fosters a strong, results-oriented culture. -The main customer demographic is women, which makes for interesting and impactful conversations about romance tropes and storytelling. -Great hybrid work environment. Flexibility is a big plus. -Lunch is provided - industry standard in SF. -There’s an opportunity to work with a wide range of people across different demographics, which keeps things fresh and fosters creativity. -Free access to Galatea books and Candyjar TV shows is a fun perk!

      Cons

-Compensation starts below market for most roles. Raises seem to happen differently for every team. -In-office expectations have been ramping up, even as random employee perks are being cut, which sends mixed messages about priorities. -The company is weighted with middle management, which can sometimes slow decision-making or dilute accountability. -Marketing leadership lacks clarity, and because marketing impacts nearly every team, those unclear priorities ripple throughout the business, causing delays and confusion.

      Pros

      1. The team is lean, which means you get to wear multiple hats and take ownership early. Fanatic ownership is respected and admired - opening doors to better quality of work. 2. I've learned something new almost every week. It's intense and sometimes intimidating, but ultimately fulfilling because you end up doing things you didn’t think you were capable of. 3. The team itself is Inkitt's crown jewel. People are generous with their time, always willing to help, and deeply curious about each other’s work. There’s a genuine culture of idea-sharing without ego or the need for credit.

      Cons

      1. The pace can be intense, and priorities shift quickly. It’s definitely an environment that rewards adaptability. I came from a work environment that was super structured so it was a big change for me personally. 2. Leadership is evolving, and like any fast-growing startup, there’s room for improvement in communication and prioritization. I’ve personally seen the team take feedback seriously and make real efforts to get better. Some of the things I read on here from former employees seem outdated compared to what I've experienced.
