Pros
Allowance is provided during site visits outside Okinawa.
Cons
1. Management: starting from its head. Despite knowing the flaws in the management (chiefs, project managers), the president makes no disciplinary action nor seek leadership trainings for them - or for himself more importantly. 2. No career growth. All engineers are in the same rank, with nowhere to climb (unless the chief engineer leaves but good luck with that). Also there's no regular one-on-one between engineers and supervisors. 3. No HR. I mean, why? 4. Management/Company has no concrete rulebook. Most decisions about bonus pay, leaves, office rules, come from verbal announcements or hearsay. 5. It's a business highly motivated by money ALONE. The owner accepts more projects to generate more income, without any regard to the staff, let alone the quality of the designs. 6. The chiefs cannot and do not push back issues to the company president. Item 5 always happens, and the engineers and draftsmen suffer in the end. 7. Company has become an echo chamber over the years. Most staff who stayed seem to stay only for the money, their values and professionalism soured. 8. Misplaced and toxic competition among peers. It is true that you are what you tolerate.
