What is overtime like at Labcorp?

      Pros

Shift differential, unlimited overtime, paid holidays, you get 40 "extra" hours paid leave per year from the company if you run out--but you do have to earn it back since it's more of a loan than a gift. The company actually seems to operate within the values it purports to have, which I deeply appreciate. Really great company for gaining experience in a clinical lab environment.

      Cons

There's a problem with being understaffed and high turnover in certain positions seems to be contributing to it. It's a lot of work and sometimes there seems to be impossible to meet expectations related to turn around time. Health insurance costs are fairly high. PLB time accrual is less than ideal.

Nice work-life balance, no overtime work

      Pros

Good benefits, job security, unlimited overtime.

      Cons

Less than commensurate pay. Management is almost nonexistent and does not listen to employees. Raises are miniscule. While overtime is usually unlimited, it becomes almost expected and work/life balance is not taken into account. There is a lot of favoritism and nepotism.

      Pros

The job itself, everyday was different and shift always went by fast

      Cons

Pay, forced into overtime just to meet minimum standards, management don’t know how to talk to people, if you want to be slaved away and under appreciated go at your own risk. If something happened to machines or anything sets you back they didn’t care just wanted the results to go out. They have no sick time. The dumbest attendance policy. If you miss a day or leave early/ come late you have to make the time up. Can’t use PTO. You also can’t use PTO if you call out sick.

Nightmare. Only apply if it's your last option,

      Pros

Easy work, plenty of PTO if you don't get sick. Cafeteria in the facility. Adequate training for the job you were hired for.

      Cons

No sick time, covid policy is to use PTO even for positive tests. Expect to work with a lot of sick people. Micromanagement. Little to no expected career growth or even additional training opportunities. Restricted overtime and weekend opportunities. Employee groups are basically unused and completely neglected by a majority of staff. Expensive insurance with subpar coverage.

      Pros

The actual work was simple enough with some minor complications. And the work environment was very welcoming, from the benefits to the co-workers.

      Cons

Due to lack of employees and low pay, overtime is common, having employees either coming in an hour early or staying an hour late.

      Pros

      - Good Benefits, PTO is very competitive. - STD is particularly good. The process is easy and management is supportive. - Pay is good for the industry.

      Cons

      - Horribly managed in every area. Lack of support at every single level means that management is burnt out, and the company and employees suffer. - Overworked, underpaid, understaffed. The location layed a massive amount of people off, then begged for them back several months later. - Animal Welfare is a joke. It is rarely taken seriously, and many employees that work closely with the animals suffer from mental health issues as a result of that. - Tasks are taken on regardless of feasibility, which results in periods of excessive overtime and lack of support. - Promotions seem to be largely based off of who you know, not what skills you have.
