Thank you for your review and for celebrating our subject matter experts. We do disagree with your listed cons. While we do see many benefits of creating an environment where our colleagues can collaborate, we would signpost you to Group Flexible Working Policy or advise you speak to your line manager to discuss your particular requirements around flexible working.

      Stuck in 2005.

      Pros

      - You will meet some truly wonderful people if you choose to work here. The staff have some genuinely incredible talent. - On site parking albeit overflowing some days. - Reasonable salaries for the area - Free tea, coffee and fruit (if thats a deal maker for you) - Good choice of places to eat at lunch in surrounding area

      Cons

      - The company operates as though its 2005 with no real urgency to change. The technology is simply non-existent, and dependent on what department and position you are in, your mileage will vary. - Lots of good intentions to “modernise” the working space for employees, but want 5 years to make it happen. Until then its virtual desktops with constant service drop outs, - Favouritism shown to the Wolverhampton office, full remodel and new equipment with no timeline or blue print of replicating for other sites, makes you think that days are numbered for the Kent sites. - Multiple systems that should have been retired years (or decades) ago, highly unfriendly to the user. - An absolute reluctance by the CEO to move into the 21st century and embrace hybrid working properly, you will be constantly told how working in person builds a great atmosphere, and encourages people to do their “best work”, in reality you will be have so much work on that you will put headphones in to block out the noise of others on the phone, or on a meeting call due to the lack of meeting space, until either lunch time or home time, and find yourself wishing you’d stayed home. - Supply your own work from home equipment unless your a manager or higher. (Laptop, screens etc.) - Salary reviews and bonuses have been dramatically reduced over the prior couple of years. - Recently made significant number of redundancies (Dec 24) with outsourcing abroad being the primary solution.

We’re undergoing a modernisation programme currently and we’re pretty proud of the progress we’ve made so far; we can see you’re no longer an employee of ours and we're sorry you won’t get to see the benefit of the changes we’re making – hopefully you’re following us on social media so you’ll be able to stay in touch. A company that feels like family

      Pros

      - Having been at the Bank from the old days of toxic atmospheres and progression limited to if you face fits! I can genuinely say to see where it is now I feel proud to say I work for OSB! Salary is competitive, progression is based on both experience and behaviours! The bigger benefits such as mat leave, compassionate leave, and hybrid working are great but even the smaller benefits such as ice cream in the summer (and the CEO even serves on the van to make it more personal) , vouchers to say thank you for your hard work make staff feel appreciated. They are also extremely flexible if something happens at home and you need to work from home for a few days! I have seen a number of CEOs over the years but Andy is definitely the best we have had! He is on our level and spends time with his staff and takes an interest in them unlike previous CEOs who never left their ivory towers!! I can’t speak for other teams, but, although our team is huge, everyone works hard together well, when busy we all pull together and live the #oneteam ethos but also socialise as a team like the whole team bowling!Show me a company that has grown as much as we have and still maintained the family atmosphere! We’ve had a number of staff that have previously left the business for other roles elsewhere but we have had a number of them come back because other companies fall short! With the changes that are happening it can only get better! - They also give back to the community by giving every member of staff 14 hours to carry out volunteer work in either the company’s charity or other charities of your choice. - they are very disability aware, there are disabled parking spaces, lifts, toilets and emergency evac chairs for emergencies, specialist equipment such as rising desks/chair and mental health first aiders throughout the company.

      Cons

Definitely the Systems, however, again being there as long as I have, I have seen the progression from the truly archaic to what it is now and the difference is extensive! Although there is still a lot of room for improvement, the company is investing heavily on improving this further!

      Pros

The people. There are some genuinely passionate and amazing people in this business. They are hardworking and truly care.

      Cons

      - Archaic views. Many have been with the business for too long, completely out of touch with what attracts and retains good staff. Zero interest in changing their mindset or exploring new ways of working. No flexible working offering, expectation is all must do 3 days a week in the office as a minimum. Quite happy to risk attracting or losing good talent. - Senior leadership are only willing to see what they want to, have zero interest in finding the balance between whats right for staff and whats right financially. All talk, zero action or intention. - Tech is awful. Systems are slow and unadvanced. Expectation to fund your own tech if your job allows you to work from home. - Culture of zero trust (similar to being back at primary school!) and blame whenever possible.

Reasonably generous wfh policy, in theory...

      Cons

-Supposedly excellent benefits are well below industry standard - little to no proper training - management is unreliable and so focused on numbers that they forget quality counts too. -multiple, redundant, very poor systems. Which make it almost impossible to complete your work. - little to no real disability support -Sexism, bigotry and discrimination openly tolerated

Thank you for taking the time to post a review and for your feedback, we’re sorry to hear your opinion on the benefits, which we think are excellent. If you haven’t already, we’d encourage you to visit the Reward section of the intranet and make sure you’re fully making use of what OSB Group has to offer. Then, on training and in response to what our people told us they’d like to see, we’re excited that just last week we launched a new learning hub which you can access through your computer or mobile phone. If you haven’t accessed it yet, take a look at our Cornerstone learning platform as there are a huge number of articles and playlists including podcasts and videos that ladder up to our aspiration to support our people to become future fit. We would like to understand a little more around the other points you have raised, please use the People Function channels available to you to discuss further.
