How are the career development opportunities at Primrose Schools?

The kids and your co-teachers will usually be great. The parents are well off and will usually gift generously.

Poor work environment, cliques, no growth opportunities, poor communication between leadership and staff, no respect from leadership, difficult parents, lying from leadership, not a school for kids with special needs.

There's a strong sense of community amongst management and staff members, IF you can balance being personal AND professional. Diverse staff team, many celebratory moments during holidays and for staff accomplishments (personal and professional). Allows for good work-life balance with proper notice, adequate support from management on professional matters, fair compensation based on experience, weekends off, frequent paid overtime opportunities, although sometimes mandatory

Limited, fixed PTO hours, slow to no career growth opportunities, business-first approach, new student & family onboarding lacks proper screening, occasional inappropriate classroom placement/transitioning despite student's age, developmental, and/or academic abilities

They provide the curriculum (not a lot of planning required)

Supportive and friendly staff – I always felt like part of a team. Well-structured curriculum that makes lesson planning easier. Management is approachable and open to feedback. Clean and safe environment for both staff and children. Good opportunity to learn classroom management and child development skills.

Pay could be better Limited advancement opportunities unless pursuing a lead teacher or administrative role.

Working with children and seeing them grow. Learning how to assess a child’s development. Only reason I gave it more stars than needed.

Creating “enhancements” to the curriculum weekly requires taking work home. You receive a teaching hour during nap time but most of the time the kiddos don’t sleep and require your attention. Also no real career opportunities. Management says there will be for growth but they only say that to try to keep you from leaving and their promises are empty. I’ve seen them make this promise to numerous other teachers.

Work well with students, co workers, and parents. You get an hour lunch. You get to eat with the children. Enjoy the splash pad with the students while you are recording and sending pictures to parents. You get yearly raises. Sometimes you get bonuses.

Working with others who do not take their job seriously nor have a career path toward being a teacher. There are some nepotism with in management toward certain employees.

Good training for an entry level position

Constantly moving around rooms to keep appropriate ratios

Enjoyable career, helpful coworkers, room for growth
