What is a typical working day like at Subway?

      Pros

It’s a good job depending on your employer or manager

      Cons

Multiple times I worked 8-9 hour shifts with no breaks because my manager scheduled me with someone new and I couldn’t afford to sit down because the person I was scheduled with didn’t know what to do obviously and we were busy. There was no manager on shift sometimes during the day and no manager on shift at night at all which we desperately needed. I was given a key to the store and was told to open and was given managerial duties without the salary (8$ph). Worst job I’ve ever worked.

      Cons

Too many employees rotating shift. No fixed schedule.

      Pros

If working with good people, overall is easy

      Cons

Usually only work with 1-2 other people, and if no one is really doing their job every shift then it sucks trying to constantly be catching up on stuff like prep, dishes, stocking items

Actually not sure why I tried going back

      Pros

Some of the crew (sandwich artists) were great and the customers are always awesome

      Cons

Upper management system is absolutely insane. The amount of paper work they expect a manager to do while running a low volume store solo is crazy, expectation for inventory levels and % different was crazy. Expecting hs students to close a store alone because they don't management to get overtime or labor and productivity to be bad so you're stuck working alone or making hs students work past their legal work hours. High schoolers should not have to close a store at 10pm on a school night alone! Regional mars are spread too thin and go crazy on store mgrs and employees.

      Pros

Pro? Your coworkers if you manage to actually get scheduled with any.

      Cons

The kind of job where they add more and more responsibilities to your plate while simultaneously refusing to offer any managerial or shift support. You’ll start by making sandwiches, then a week later they kick you to completely solo shifts while nagging that the work you do entirely alone isn’t enough to run an entire store. Crazy how that seems to pan out. Read google reviews for receipts, this store being chronically understaffed by owners that don’t care will be its death.
