What are pay raises like at Tufts University?

Decent work life balance, great work culture/coworkers. Community is full of very friendly and passionate people. Great benefits and access to University resources.

Pay is very mediocre given how much money Tufts University makes especially when compared to similar position salaries of other big schools such as MIT, Harvard, etc. After 2.5 years of working here and getting great feedback on performance reviews, I've only received $1.30 increase in my hourly wage. No annual bonuses either. A bit of micro management from supervisor as well. No room for upward mobility and very difficult to get promotions. Seems like majority of people stay in their same position for years.

Great working for faculty if you have a strong relationship with them, becoming a TA will advance that relationship. This will help you learn more about a field you are interested in and make connections.

- Your experience depends on your professor. Some professors are great as in class professors, but working for them has challenges. - You typically work more than what your contract states because these contracts are not designed by your department but rather the Graduate School Admin. (i.e. my TA contract stated I was working 4 hrs per week, but when factoring in in class time and outside class work I was working about 7 hr per week)
