Dynamic and Collaborative Workplace with Opportunities for Growth

      Devops engineer
      Current contractor

      Recommend
      CEO approval
      Business outlook

      Pros

Innovative Environment: Lululemon is at the forefront of leveraging technology to enhance retail experiences, providing an innovative and dynamic work environment. Collaborative Culture: The company fosters a strong sense of community and teamwork, making collaboration with different departments smooth and efficient. Professional Growth: There are ample opportunities for learning and career development, with support for certifications and further education. Work-Life Balance: Lululemon places a strong emphasis on work-life balance, offering flexible working hours and a supportive management team. Employee Benefits: The company offers comprehensive benefits, including health and wellness programs, generous discounts on products, and other perks that promote overall well-being.

      Cons

High Expectations: The fast-paced and demanding environment can sometimes lead to high stress and pressure to meet tight deadlines. Complex Infrastructure: Managing and optimizing a complex cloud infrastructure requires continuous learning and adaptation, which can be challenging. Limited Resources: At times, there may be limitations on resources or support for certain projects, which can impact efficiency and project timelines. Communication Gaps: Due to the rapid growth and scale of operations, there can sometimes be communication gaps between different teams or departments. Frequent Changes: The company’s agile approach and constant pursuit of innovation mean that there are frequent changes in processes and priorities, which may be challenging to keep up with.

Fun work environment, but Japan operates differently than Global and lacks true DEI

      Pros

      - Fun and energetic work environment – Team culture is generally positive, and the job itself can be enjoyable. - Employee perks – Good discounts and benefits related to wellness and an active lifestyle. - Strong brand reputation – Working for a well-known global company can be beneficial for career experience.

      Cons

      - Hiring diverse candidates without real support – lululemon Japan hires employees from mixed backgrounds but does not provide the necessary structure, support, or inclusive leadership for them to succeed. Employees from non-traditional Japanese backgrounds often struggle with biased evaluations and unclear expectations. - DEI exists in name only – While the company claims to prioritize DEI, there are no real policies in place to address cultural differences or create a truly inclusive work environment. It’s mostly a checkbox exercise rather than an effort to foster genuine diversity. - Managers lack experience leading diverse teams – Many managers have never worked/managed people from different cultural backgrounds and tend to misinterpret differences in work styles as performance issues rather than recognizing them as strengths. - Performance evaluations are biased – Employees who do not fit the traditional Japanese culture mold are often judged more harshly, with cultural clashes framed as personal shortcomings rather than opportunities for growth and inclusion. - Limited career growth – If you come from mixed background, or simply have a different approach to work, it is much harder to advance within the company compared to rest of APAC / North America, where diverse perspectives are valued.

      Pros

I decided I wanted a 2nd job for some extra fun money. I had never shopped at Lulu prior to my employment, but I couldn't be happier. The organization is serious about professional development and its intention is evident in its management. They really want you to focus on providing great guest experiences, everything else, don't worry about it! Most employee just want to do good work and enjoy the perks. For a PT job, we have AWESOME perks...very generous discount, competitive pay/bonus opportunities, generous PAID time off, 401k, and wellness benefits.

      Cons

The price point of the store has created a customer base that can be entitled and rude/. Misinformation on TikTok has created a narrative that you can return anything used/damage/you don't want for something new. That is not true and we can face the wrath of a guest when we pop that bubble. It can be overwhelmingly busy during the holidays, but thats to be expected.

      Pros

One of my favorite part-time jobs ever! Great fitness and wellness benefits and the job was low stress because of an encouraging team environment! Loved getting to be a part of the community with Lululemon.

      Cons

Lots of standing so not great if you have a current injury. Commission based meeting team goal for the month.

      Pros

Beautiful store environment with an energetic, community-focused culture Opportunities to learn and grow in many aspects of retail (sales, merchandising, inventory, operations) Amazing benefits, including discounts, wellness support, and internal development programs Fast-paced, dynamic work that keeps you engaged

      Cons

Experience can vary drastically depending on your leadership team—strong managers make all the difference Company policies can be vague, especially regarding guest experience, which sometimes puts pressure on educators to resolve difficult situations without clear boundaries Without solid team support, navigating those grey areas can become emotionally draining

      - Great focus on overall health and wellness: fitness benefits, classes on site - Office space is nice - Great company events - People are generally nice/friendly - Fantastic employee discount

      Cons

      - Have to pay for benefits (it's not free/fully covered) - Some managers are not great... they are not supportive and do not take any action to resolve team/people issues. Make you feel stupid when you ask questions. This has a major impact as a con - Strict return to office policy. 3 days per week - Many people are hired on as contractors and it feels they are treated differently (worse)

      Pros

Competitive Pay and Benefits: Lululemon is known for providing competitive pay, even for entry-level warehouse roles. Some positions may also offer benefits like healthcare, discounts on Lululemon products, and wellness programs. 2. Employee Discounts and Product Allowances: Employees often receive discounts on Lululemon’s products, and there may be product allowances, which can be a big perk for anyone interested in athletic wear. 3. Positive Company Culture: Lululemon emphasizes values like wellness, mindfulness, and a supportive work environment. This culture often extends to the warehouse, where teamwork and positive interaction are encouraged. 4. Focus on Wellness and Work-Life Balance: Many Lululemon roles promote wellness and may offer programs or resources related to fitness and personal growth. This focus can create a more balanced and supportive work environment. 5. Opportunities for Growth: Lululemon sometimes promotes internally, meaning warehouse employees might have the chance to move up or even transition to retail or corporate roles with time and experience. 6. Active Work Environment: Similar to Aritzia, warehouse roles at Lululemon involve physical activity, which can be appealing for those who prefer not to be sitting at a desk all day.

      Cons

Physically Demanding Work: The role can be physically intensive, with long hours of standing, lifting, and moving items. It can be tiring or even lead to injuries if you're not used to this level of activity. 2. Seasonal Rushes and Overtime: During peak seasons (like holidays), shifts may be longer, and mandatory overtime may be required. This can be stressful and may affect your work-life balance during certain times of the year. 3. Repetitive Tasks: Warehouse work often involves repetitive tasks, which can feel monotonous over time. For some people, this lack of variety can be a drawback. 4. Strict Schedules and Structure: Like most warehouses, schedules can be rigid, with limited flexibility in terms of start and end times, especially during peak periods. 5. Temperature and Environmental Conditions: Depending on the warehouse, it might not always be climate-controlled. Summers can be hot, and winters can be cold, which can be uncomfortable in some facilities.
