I was reached out to try applying for the creative designer position . Intially it was good, as the person explained well who they are. The process to apply the position was clear and easy. I was requested to do a design test. After submitting, i was asked to submit my portfolio which was odd because they never asked earlier. However, I got rejected after submiting my portfolio. I think that seems confusing to request after doing the test, because it leads me to questioning the point of doing a test if the portfolio was being judged at the end. It was a disappointing process because it just gave me the impression that I did well on the design test but only to be rejected due to my portfolio which just seems to be waste of time. Not to forget, the cold email rejection I received which I actually had to email asking for an update on the application after few days not getting any response. My advice is to restructure your application process and rethink back what is really wanted in a designer. People who did these test took their time to do, so please appreciate their time and give them the respect to respond in a professional manner.
