      Software Engineer Interview

      1 Oct 2023
      Anonymous interview candidate
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

      I interviewed at 4over

      Interview

I got a very snarky email from their HR telling me my desired salary was out of the pay range they "had clearly posted in the job listing". I went back and carefully looked. There was no pay in the listing so they were wrong. Don't be rude to your applicants, especially when you're wrong.

Thank you for your response. We do post our salary ranges transparently to stay within compliance of state laws-all positions on our website have salary/wage ranges. We communicate if our range does not align with your desired pay expectations. We believe it is important to be respectful of our candidates time and have the conversation sooner rather than at the end of the interview process. We wish you the best with your search!

      Positive experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at 4over (Glendale, CA) in Nov 2015

      Interview

Started with a phone interview, with the person I'd be working with. Simple questions about job history, and example of what I'm working on currently. An in-person interview was then scheduled, though the person who hired me said at the start that they wanted to hire me already and the in-person part was a formality at that point. They wanted me to start quickly, though I didn't need to give a two-week notice at my then-current employer, because my boss there was headed out of the country for a month.
