Contacted by recruiter for this position which sounded good. Went to interview, performed well and they made me an offer. Had a couple of questions for them in terms of salary and progression which they answered and then said they will get a written offer out to me. I chased the recruitment agent up on this a couple of times who said "they are just sorting out the paper work". Weeks went by and then he said, "they have a meeting with HR to finalise the details and will get back to you with a formal offer after the Easter break". Weeks went by again and I heard nothing. Chased up the recruiter who stated various things had happened and they ended up recruiting someone internally. Had I not chased him up, they would never have gotten back to me. Very unprofessional. I had to turn down many other interviews and stop my job applications as I thought this offer was on the table and I was going to accept. Only 2 months later and after chasing up myself did I find out what was going on.
