Had me into the office once in may, they passed - no prob. Two months later, an un-named department head asked if I was still interested in the role, and had me back in to interview with no application process. The job was not re-posted, and I was told someone was moving internally to LA. Went for the interview with said department head and their superior, in which he was looking for someone to stand out and "make a splash." Seems reasonable. He even went as far to ask me what I'm making now (kind of rude) because he "wanted to pay me more." He also showed me "my" desk, introduced me to a few co-workers, shook my hand, and told me to "make preparations at my old job."
The next week I got an email from a random HR person asking to schedule a call for good news. Regular HR guy was on vacation? They offered 40k, crazy for what I think the type of person he was describing in the interview, but I was ready to take it if need be pending negotiation. (gotta pay the bills).
Long story short, couldnt get answers about benefits from new HR kid, waited until other HR kid came back, in which I followed up and was promptly told that they decided to rescind my offer and "we'll reach out in the future if anything opens up." Logical, (sarcasm) --
Ignored my messages and emails, disappeared.
By the way, there's no option for "offered and rescinded" so i said i declined.
