The interview process consisted of an online application, phone screening, and finally an in person interview. The phone screening was a review of items on my resume, some details about the jobs I have / had and some specifics regarding applications. Overall I would say this would have been the easiest interview I had ever had. A HR rep called me after to schedule an in person interview. The in person interview was in a panel format consisting of a few other teammates, the hiring manager and myself. The total interview was about an hour. The hiring manager had a list of situational soft questions and the teammates had a few technical related questions. Of all my IT interviews that I have either conducted or been a part of this was least technical one. I left the interview feeling extremely calm and confident as the interview had gone well. The hiring manager walked me to the front and asked about the interview process. Overall HR had been extremely responsive and it was a good experience to this point. He then commented that they are striving to clean up the process and I should hear something back within a week. "Great" I said, "a retail organization that cares is wonderful." Thank you letter sent, and the waiting game begun. A couple days had passed with no responses, so I contacted HR as a follow up. I did not receive a call back or any email correspondence. Again I waited. It has been a few months now with no response, so I wrote this review as a caution to prospective job seekers. When bringing anyone in for an in person interview post interview communication, regardless of decision, is key. This small professional courtesy is a must. While people hate to give bad news the job seeker needs constructive criticism for career growth. An organization, especially a retail organization, needs to teach its people that regardless of your position, internal or external, you represent a consumer driven retail organization. This means following through professionally with interviews results to jobs seekers, who are also POTENTIAL CUSTOMERS. Based on this experience I would be hesitant to shop at a store whose people cannot conduct themselves in a professional manner.
