I applied in-person. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Ace Hardware (Clear Lake City, TX) in Jul 2015
Interview
The hiring manager calls and tells you when to arrive at the store for the interview. When you arrive, he calls you into the office and you have a 1 on 1 conversation with him. The interview usually lasts about 7-15 minutes. Then he either offers you the position or says he will call you. (You will only get a call for an interview if they want you to have the job. I've never seen them not hire someone they interview in the store.)
