      Intermediate User Experience Designer Interview

      6 Feb 2017
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Auckland, Auckland
      No offer
      Negative experience

      Application

I applied online. The process took 3 months. I interviewed at Aderant (Auckland, Auckland) in Aug 2014

      Interview

The process took nearly 3 months. Applied for 2 weeks and received an email for online assessment test ( personality and math) con complete within 48 hrs. 1 week later received an email for 5 more questions ( as below). 1 week later received email for interview appointment at 4 pm on next day. Showed up and waited until 5.15pm as the manager was busy. After redone the assessment test, started interview with the HR manager. He asked: why you didn't become an accountant? Why you did apply for resident visa with your partner? Finished at 6.30pm. 1 week later, I was contacted to be informed that my application was processed further. 1week later, I followed up. 1 week later, I got another practical test to do. More than 1 week later, I followed up the result, and was told that HR manager was on holiday for 2 weeks. 3 weeks later, he informed that my application was unsuccessful. Very frustrating experience.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

1.Why do you feel you are well suited to the role of a UX Designer at Aderant? Please be specific with your answer. 2.Our experience of people in this space is that they are very passionate about the UX area – tell us about why you have a passion for working in the UX space and why are you looking to apply your skills on a software product (as opposed to working for a Marketing organisation for instance). 3.Would you classify your general experience level in the UX space as ‘entry level’, ‘intermediate level’ or ‘senior level’? State why you have rated yourself at the level you select. 4.What prior hands on experience have you had working in the UX area on software products (particularly large products)? An example would be good. 5. If you haven’t already, please include some sort of ‘portfolio’ of work to showcase your UX / design / creative skills – this could be a link to something online as opposed to attachments.
