I had an phone screening with Brooke Frasure about an entry level HR position in Orlando, FL. It was a terrible phone screening. After I was told that the client wouldn’t be interested with a recent grad who hasn’t dealt specifically with HR, I was told to “show more enthusiasm” and it was suggested that maybe it was the root cause of not finding employment post grad to this point. The fact that there are companies/recruiters out there that want candidates to jump through hoops as if they are apart of a circus exhibit is deplorable and unprofessional because not every person wants to be a puppet for a paycheck. To suggest that someone’s demeanor via a short phone call is the reason why they haven’t found employment is extremely unprofessional and I see why the recruiting/staffing agency sector gets a bad rap across the World Wide Web.
