      Flight Attendant Interview

      26 Apr 2015
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Portland, OR
      No offer
      Positive experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Alaska Airlines (Portland, OR) in Apr 2015

      Interview

I applied in March and got a phone interview a couple weeks later. She asked the basic questions from the minimum requirements and asked about my resume. It was about 15 minutes and she told me I passed and she scheduled me for the next step of the interview process which was a group interview followed by a one on one with HR. There were about 50 or so people who also passed and after an hour long intro to the Alaska company we were split into groups of about 12-15. After arranging ourselves alphabetically, we were asked to stand and spell our name and then name a job we were most loyal to. After that acard we given per two people and we had a minute to discuss the question and then we went around and answered it. After that we were asked to go around and name one thing that is not on our resume. That is meant to be a laid back fun kind of question. I noticed people who had what I would consider to be "intense" answers were not passed. Just relax and have some humor. You are trying to stand out and be remembered. After that we were told to go back to the main conference room and wait. 30 minutes later a woman called off names and the names she called had made it to the next round. The next step is a one on one with a flight attendant. She said she had nothing to do with cuts and she just went over the minimum requirements again and then asked if I had any questions for her. I asked what her most memorable flight experience was. After that the HR rep came and pulled you into a smaller room. She asked a few questions mostly about customer service and if I would be ok with moving and what I had done in anticipation of moving if need be. I told her I had researched rooms for rent and crash pads. She kind of seemed bored so I'm not sure if it was my answers or if it was just a long day for her. I tried to make it a relaxed time like earlier at the group interview but again I'm not sure if that's what she was looking for or not. She was pretty hard to read. Although I wasn't selected I will definitely be applyin again in six months. It's such a great company and they're great to their people.
