      Inside Sales Associate Interview

      27 Apr 2022
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Minneapolis, MN
      No offer
      Positive experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 days. I interviewed at All Energy Solar (Minneapolis, MN) in Apr 2022

      Interview

My first interview was set up as a phone screening, I did not hear from the person at the scheduled time, so waited a solid 5 mins and emailed asking if we were still on. I received a call few minutes later and they apologized for being stuck in a meeting late. I said stuff happens… Although, it had been my third experience in a week with HR people either not calling me back (multiple companies) or not being professional, so it did admittedly bother me just a little bit. The interview did not flow well, they didn't know what the well known solar certification was when I mentioned it, as I am working on getting that certification. It is very recognized and should be helpful in landing a job at a solar company. They asked me to spell it out, quite literally, and explain what it was. I was a bit thrown off by this and the whole interview was just off. I didn't sell myself as good as I could have, I will admit. I chose to apply here due to how much I hear about them, I know they are pro active in legislation and advertise on public radio and a neighbor had them install their system. The final question about having to eventually work back in the office, got weird. They were very adamant on that, and actually sounded angry when I said I know some there are working remotely and that was my end goal. I said I would like to talk to them about that possibility, meaning the next person. It sounds like they don't let just anyone or everyone do it and I get that. They didn't acknowledge my saying that at all, or even a - I will run it by them response. As of my interview people they were still working remotely. I would have liked to at least have discussed that with the next round person. I check all the boxes and then some for the position, so the whole thing was very frustrating, and the next day I received a message saying I would not be moving on. I am not so much mad about it as frustrated. I feel the same conversation with someone who knew more, likely would have gone a bit differently.

      Question 1

What can you tell me about past jobs and sales experience? Seemed questions were very general.
