After applying through Allstate's website, I received an e-mail asking for a phone interview. The interview was basic customer service questions- name a time I went the extra mile for a customer, a time when I thought outside the box to solve a problem, etc. Immediately after the phone interview, I received an e-mail with a personality test that had to be completed within 24 hours. This test involved behavioral questions (how would you handle conflict, how would people describe you) and after finishing, received an e-mail saying that I had passed. The next day, I received a call from Allstate's talent acquisition to schedule an interview at their headquarters in Northbrook. The interviewer was friendly and upbeat, and the session took about an hour. The questions were again on customer service and how I handled situations. Every question that he asked has been covered on this page, I can't stress how much Glassdoor helped in preparing. He told me that I would receive a call within a week or two. The next day, I received a call from talent acquisition to schedule a second interview. The second interview was very similar to the first, and I was told to expect a decision within seven business days. About ten business days later, I received a call with an offer, contingent on passing a background check. The anticipated start date was in twelve days, and I asked if it could be pushed back so I could give my notice after I passed the background check. They were nice enough to push my start date back a week, and the background check came back after a week, so I was able to give two weeks notice at my previous position. Overall, this was a solid process that was handled well.
