I applied through a recruiter. The process took 4 months. I interviewed at Amazon Web Services (Nairobi) in Jan 2024
Interview
Recruiter reached out on LinkedIn, applied to role and a few weeks later received an invite to do an online assessment; had work simulation questions and the technical part based on area(s) you select. After passing OA, did the loop interviews then got an offer. Loop interview had four interviews, two behavioral based on the LPs and two technical based on Linux, networking and one coding question(not expected to actually code, just explain solution)
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Linux and Networking based questions. For behavioral questions, prepare stories in advance for relevant LPs (you can ask your recruiter which ones) and answer in STAR method. Don't lie and remember anything you say is fair game. Have metrics to quantify your impact and demonstrate how you got those metrics.
4 rounds of interview
1- Technical Networking
2- Technical Operating Systems
3 & 4 were Managerial
From Technical aspect, just be strong with networking fundamentals and have a clear idea of how things actually work in networking.
For Operating Systems round, just know basics of OS and some commands (from either linux or Windows, whichever you are comfortable with)
I interviewed at Amazon Web Services (Auckland, Auckland)
Interview
The interview process was well-structured and professional. It started with an online application and initial screening, followed by technical and behavioral interviews. The questions focused on basic cloud concepts, networking, troubleshooting scenarios, and customer-focused situations. The interviewers were friendly and explained the next steps clearly. Overall, the process was fair and gave a good sense of what the Cloud Support Engineer role involves.
I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at Amazon Web Services
Interview
It was a good process, from the start everyone very friendly and all transparent. It's a long process in which a lot of interviews are taken, so if you're going to take a process with Amazon, you have to be aware of that.
