competency based questions, matching their company values to your experience specifically. for example it seemed like there was a section on customer focus, a section on making difficult decisions, team management etc. I had two interviewers.

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 6 weeks. I interviewed at Amazon Web Services in Aug 2024
Interview
Initial phone screen, and then a second screen with an HR specialist familiar with the organization. If that's a fit, there's a 1:1 with a similar role individual. Next round is the loop interview (look it up online) which consisted of 7 1-hour interviews with 1-2 people from different organizations. Entire process was as described in the first screening, and met all dates for response, feedback and ultimate go/no go decision.

Describe when you failed and how you recovered with the client.
According to the Amazon hiring process all interviewers have to be “inclined” to hire you to get the job, you have to expect approx. 6 interviews in a row. Typically one of the interviewers will have a “bar raiser” role, to make sure the company can bring in new valuable skills.
