I applied in-person. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at American Eagle Outfitters (Exton, PA) in Jul 2013
Interview
First step is to go to the store. American Eagle does paper applications, not online. Show initiative by either filling out the application right there in the store, or take a pen with you, head to the nearest food court, and fill it out there. The application is a standard one asking for past work, schooling, etc. American Eagle particularly looks for any past retail experience but will hire even if this is your first time ever working for anyone. Once you hand it back to a manager, they usually ask "Why do you want to work at American Eagle?" They want loyal customers as employees because if you love the clothes, you'll make the current customers love them as well. Afterwards, they'll ask if you're available on some specific Tuesday. At least both stores I worked at, interviews were on Tuesdays, and orientations were on Sundays. The interviews that I had were both group interviews which I think I'd like more than a single person interview because you can outshine the other interviewees (or get some good answering hints from the other people). They ask questions like "what's your favorite style of AE jeans?" or "what's the best/ worst experience as a customer you've had in a clothing store?" Just answer honestly. No one likes a kissass and it's okay to say "I'm not sure." After the group questions, they have you come back one by one to say whether they're hiring you or not and they tell you the wage right there and when to come in for orientation.

Interview
-pretty easy, went inside for an interview and they asked me about my experience. They then made me try on a bunch of clothes and taught me how to fold them.

Easy interview with manager. We spoke outside about expectations. She was kind and understanding. I interviewed with a couple of people there too. Went over schedule etc. very straight forward and easy

Interview
It was very easy as I knew someone who worked there. They got me an interview and asked me basic questions. They verbally gave me an offer on the spot and I got a offical offer a week later.
