      Administrative Interview

      17 Nov 2014
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Burnaby, BC
      Declined offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at American Income Life (Burnaby, BC)

      Interview

Waste of a morning. Got there to see 7-10 other people interviewing as well. The job i applied for is not what they were pitching. they wanted everyone to do sales. they give you an application form that you don't get the chance to fill out because they ask you to come in and talk to one of the interviewers that are there almost 5 min after you sit down. Then after you talk to them they tell you "they are confident enough to let you go on to the next stage" which they tell everyone. You then sit inside a room with a tv screen and get lectured about the company and why you should want to work there. Wayyy after at the end of the video, she tells you theres a "fee" for you to get the job. They say you have to take a course to get licensed and that they pay for the course but you still have to pay 200 something odd dollars towards it. Never been to a job interview thats asked me to pay for something in order to get the job (nor do i think any company should ever expect for an employee to pay to get paid) after you finish the assessment test that they give you after the videos and lecture, one of the interviewers pulls one person at a time inside a room. Asks them one question, get sent away with an "info" package that just talks about the company. You're told they will call you that day with a yes or a no. Which they did.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

Not many difficult questions. the usual "why should we pick you for the job" "what are you looking for and why are you here?" "what experiences do you have that will help you here if you get the job" etc. just general questions.

      11 Aug 2018
      Anonymous interview candidate
      New York, NY
      Declined offer
      Negative experience

      Application

The process took 1 day. I interviewed at American Income Life (New York, NY)

      Interview

Was informed it is a sales job= classic bait and switch. These were some of the fastest talking people I've ever met, complete with humorous asides to throw you off. I continued to refer to the ad on Craigslist (which did not name company or location) but kept being told about unlimited $$$ opportunities. Looking at other posts here it appears as though this is company policy. There must be a reason for to hide basic facts about business in job ad. Also on one of the questionnaires I took: "Do you know anyone else who might be interested in this position?" and below that 3 lines for names/phones/ email. Reeks of a MLM /pyramid.

      Anonymous employee

      Easy interview

      Application

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 3 days. I interviewed at American Income Life (Henderson, NV) in Sept 2017

      Interview

Asked me for a updated copy of my resume, a reference or two and then I came in for a interview, which was 10 min long. Once the interview was done, I followed up with the hiring manager for a final and then I was hired immediately.

      12 Apr 2016
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Corona, CA
      Declined offer
      Negative experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at American Income Life (Corona, CA) in Apr 2016

      Interview

Was a complete sham. Invited to interview for administration and it was a sales pitch presentation over an hour to sell insurance. I let it be known very clearly beforehand that I had already explored the insurance industry and had no interest in getting licensed. That was known before scheduling the interview. There was about 8 other people there. What they do is lure you in for a group presentation intending to recruit sales agents. The other jobs are fictitious
