I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at American Income Life (Eatontown, NJ) in Feb 2015
Interview
Interview was supposedly for a one-on-one, and only could be held Tuesday or Thursday morning; however it was a 10 Minute one-on-one and a 30+ minute group review.
Should you want the position do a little research on American Income Life and their agency and show energy you will most likely be offered the position or advanced to the 3rd interview on a different day.
To clarify what the position entails see below.
Position:
• 1099 Based Position
• Individual Contributor Role
• Business to Consumer (B2C) Sales Position dealing with Union Workers
• Mainly Night/Weekend Work
• Assessment for management in 3-6 Months; however no further clarification was provided even after questioning.
Retention Information:
• 10% Retention Rate
• Average tenure for retained reps is: 1+ years
Commission Information:
• 40% of revenue sold until you achieve $10,000 in revenue
• 50% of revenue sold when you exceed $10,001 in revenue
• 55% once you become a manager
• 60% was mentioned; however revenue levels were not stated.
• Commissions are split 50% / 50% if two reps go out on an appointment.
• When a sale is made 60% of the commission is paid upfront. After a period of 4 months the other 40% is released. This is done in the event a buyer cancels the policy. Note: should the client cancel the policy after the 4th month they will take the cancellation out of your renewal payments should the buyer cancel prior to 4 months they will take the 60% back out of commissions to be paid.
• Residual at policy renewal.
Note: The interviewer was a nice person that seemed sincere, but new to the interviewing process. However the opportunity was not the opportunity presented to me by the agency recruiter (Management role). Additionally the recruiter indicated they did not present to groups and it was a group based interview for the review phase.

Interview
Fantastic, easy to understand. Great job with clarity as to the next steps and where I stood. Great presentation. Great job showing me the field virtually.
Overall a experience I would recommend to anybody else, anytime.

Interview
The interview takes place in two stages: an initial group overview of the company, then they’ll do final rounds of 1 on 1 interviews. The overview was just an hour long presentation of the company and job position. If called back for the 1 on 1 interview, then it lasts about 45 minutes and you get an offer or don’t on the spot, which took me by surprise.

They are trying to sell you on joining their company. It felt like nothing more than smoke and mirrors and a thirsty attempt at baiting you to join their pyramid scheme.
