I applied for the position of Paralegal online. I received an email to set up a phone interview with HR. The phone interview led to an in person interview. I met with the Director of Publications who would be the boss for the person in this new position and the Associate Deputy Director. The interview was very straightforward. They explained the duties of this new position and what the work entailed. They asked relevant questions about education/experience background. I felt like this would have been a perfect match for me since the job seemed to be a combination of many skills including writing, proofreading, and research. There was no discussion of benefits or salary. I met briefly with HR to fill out application. Everyone there seemed to be nice and professional and just trying to focus on the work of the Institute. I got a good impression of the people and place from the interview. I did not get an offer and really wished I had gotten a chance to work there. This is the first job interview in a long time where I actually felt like it would be a great fit for me. I also like it when you don't get asked all those stupid questions - what is your greatest strength or weakness. I like interviews that are - wow - about the job and place of employment.
