I applied online. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at American Valet (Phoenix, AZ) in Sept 2011
Interview
Very simple. Just need to have manual stick driving experience and have common sense. First applied online, then met with a recruiter at a job fair (I was in college at the time). They ask mostly about your availability- which they are flexible if you are a student. The interviewer was very professional and is usually someone who also is a valet or has experience, not just someone from the office.
I applied through university. The process took 5 days. I interviewed at American Valet
Interview
Applied through the ad in the university newspaper. Conducted two interviews. First interview was through the phone and received a call for an in-person interview. Went to company headquarters in Phoenix, AZ and conducted an in-person interview. No questions out of the ordinary (i.e. - tell me about yourself, etc). Was hired for the job and conducted a one-day course on the company and their policies and received company uniforms for both summer and winter wear.
Very simple and basic questions. The interview lasted about 10 minutes and when it was over they set up a time for an orientation and then training. I don't think you could screw up the interview as they will pretty much hire anyone. I'm pretty sure they don't care if you can drive stick either as I have met multiple employees that couldn't drive stick.
Very simple and straight forward. Ask questions about driving experience. Ability to drive manual transmission. Williningness to work nights and weekends and holidays
