Three steps of the interview process as follows:
- Phone Screen with recruiter
- Round 1 interview with UDP manager
- Round 2 interview with regional office manager
The first two rounds were easy to schedule and consisted of typical interview questions (why this company/job, your strengths, weaknesses, etc.), both within the same week. Both interviewers were kind but surface level and certainly "selling" the program despite known problems that the company continues to ignore. The third interview with the office manager was lackluster at best and suffered from extreme disinterest from the start, wanting to talk more about they're upcoming vacation than the job (it was a Friday). Throughout the process they tell you the ideal underwriter is analytical with a limited amount of sales. They will later turn around and reject you for not being a typical "sales" person. This is largely why they have hired just 1 individual for an opening of 20+ locations/postings over the last 6 months. The rejection email that followed only proceeded 3 weeks post-interview after 2 follow-ups, no feedback despite 3rd round. Analysis-paralysis and seeking the "unicorn" candidate is what hurts.
