      Sales Interview

      29 Feb 2012
      Anonymous employee
      Indianapolis, IN
      Accepted offer
      Neutral experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Angi (Indianapolis, IN) in Sept 2011

      Interview

Once considered, the candidate has to complete a series of on-line exams and written essays as to why they would like to work for the company and what they have to offer that would benefit the company. Once passed, the candidate interviews with one seemingly nice manager who dangles the carrot via the use of false, or at least rare, salary quotients that in reality, very few ever achieve. The second interview is conducted by another manager who seems to be more intent and intimidating. They seemingly use this practice to entice and seduce the candidate into a state of acceptance that benefits the company in a sole manner. The details of how the draw and commissions work are obscure and veiled. Instead, emphasis is placed on the "real" possibility of the candidate making a six figure salary in their first year.

I applied online. I interviewed at Angi

      Interview

The interview process was straightforward, educational, and fun at the same time! Jay was extremely professional and very welcoming . He painted a crystal clear picture of what would be expected of me. While I was already familiar with the brand, he educated me on the company's goals and culture. I also interviewed with one of the sales managers, Erin. She is amazing! Her dynamic personality and straightforward questions made the interview very enjoyable. Erin's sincere enthusiasm about the company really impressed me. I enjoyed the roleplay scenario. Monica made certain that my onboarding experience went smoothly. Based my interactions, I feel that this company treats their team members very well. They are looking for a specific kind of sales talent. I intentionally used the word *straightforward* more than once. Everyone has been very clear about the company's mission. They obviously take pride in the company, and want their new hires to know that this is a great opportunity.

Very lengthy interview process, 3 interviews, some with camera on and some without. Also have to complete multiple 15-30 min assessments. Seems overkill for this position. Told that I would hear back by a certain date and did not.
