      Group Manager Transport Interview

      8 Nov 2016
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Mississauga, ON
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Anheuser-Busch InBev (Mississauga, ON) in Oct 2016

      Interview

Subsequent to a successful telephone interview with the HR rep, I progressed to a secondary interview with the distribution Manager who acknowledged my considerable experience in logistics and we went into detail on the job specifics and again, the Distribution Manager commented that I would be an ideal candidate for this position as he really liked the fact that one of my objectives was to provide mentorship to junior employees with respect to this function. Post Interview, I e-mailed the HR rep to express my thank you for the interview opportunity and was informed that they were still in the selection process. Having a very good feeling that this was a good fit as assured by the Distribution Manager, I felt very confident in securing this position as my abilities, people skills and significant experience, education and enthusiasm were well received and noted as filling a gap of lack thereof within the Labatt family. Much to my surprise, I was informed by HR that they had progressed with a more "suitable and qualified" candidate. Lets be honest here, with 40 years of diverse and broad knowledge base of everything logistics coupled with the education and an expressed willingness to share that knowledge at a lesser salary for 5 years (or more), I was not going to represent a progression blockade for internal hiring in the future. Most people only stay for 5 years anyway. Labatt's clearly lost out on 40 years of experience and knowledge at a bargain price because of age discriminatory hiring - clear and simple - their 10 points of "alleged" culture were all strong in my background however it is clearly just talk on Labatt's part

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

Technical questions were easy for me as a professional P. Log with 40 years of experience however the Distribution Manager focused at closure that Labatt does not like to block internal employee progression.
