I applied online. I interviewed at Anova Culinary (San Francisco, CA)
Interview
Applied online, initial phone screen with hiring manager, then was brought in for an in person with several team members in accounting and finance. Was ghosted after that - never received a follow up after the in person interview.
A very disrespectful interview that only (try to) judges personality and nothing about software development skills.
They are trying to get the minority to join their company to look "cool" in the bay area. So if you are a white man, bad luck, forget about the company.
I applied online. I interviewed at Anova Culinary (San Francisco, CA) in May 2021
Interview
Recruiter was terribly unprofessional and spent the bulk of our initial conversation unloading about personal problems which had less than nothing to do with the company or the job. Weeks would elapse in between email communications before they finally scheduled a 3 hour interview block with absolutely no breaks whatsoever. 100% of the questions are irrelevant S.T.A.R. nonsense and they don't give you more than 2-3 minutes to ask them anything at all. Software leadership's only prior experience comes from cultish consulting firms and they are clearly just cribbing from some blog about how to interview people. Everybody seemed completely checked out and uninterested in their own process which was definitely contagious. Very disappointing as I was looking forward to this one.

Question 1
Tell me about a time when somebody asked you this exact same question because that's what was written down for them on a script.
