I applied through an employee referral. The process took 6 weeks. I interviewed at Aon (Chicago, IL) in Apr 2015
Interview
I applied for the job online and submitted my resume. I received a call the next day from Aon recruiter. Very friendly guy, talked to me about my background, salary expectations etc. He was very transparent and walked me through the entire process.
A follow up phone call was scheduled. My peer who talked to me was a rocking guy. The conversation was very casual and friendly. After the phone call, I was called in to a personal interview round. Talked to 3 people in the leadership roles including my would be manager. All were super nice, friendly and even took the time to talk to me about Aon and Benfield. I was sold right there.
Post interview, decision took almost 4 weeks to come. They had to raise the role to a different level to meet my expectations that needed approvals from the top. The recruiter was accessible all along and kept me posted of the status even if he didnt have anything new.

Question 1
I dont recall anything that was extraordinarily tricky. Review your past experiences and keep some interesting stories in your back pocket. You might need them to answer some of the questions where they will probe you on how you solved a specific problem.
I applied online. The process took 4 months. I interviewed at Aon (London, England) in Jul 2025
Interview
Applied for job — nothing for a month — arranged 30 min Teams interview, went well then silence for two weeks — in-person interview, went well — two weeks no comms — then hurriedly asked for a “chat” with another team member which turned out to be a demanding interview (sceptical attitude, pointed questions). Silence for four weeks. Don’t mind if the answer is no but a very chaotic process and setting up interviews as informal chats is unfair and misleading. It’s common decency to at least confirm a decision and not leave people with silence

Technical questions (about skills and capabilities)
I applied in-person. The process took 6 months. I interviewed at Aon (London, England) in Mar 2022
Interview
A number of meetings, always pleasant enough. Vast gaps between responses though, no information from the company unless I pushed for it. This was for quite a senior role, didn't even do me the courtesy of a reply. Even after I contacted my most senior hiring manager directly, no response, nothing. If this is indicative of the culture, it's highly shabby and must be a horrible please to work.
I applied online. The process took 2+ months. I interviewed at Aon in Jan 2019
Interview
Several interviews, drawn out process, generic/canned follow-ups. Recruiter extremely flighty and disconnected. Forced to follow up several times to get an answer on the outcome of the offer. Red flags all around! A giant like Aon - totally shocked to experience their outdated, untimely HR practices. Left a lot to be desired. Get it together Aon!
