      IOS Developer Interview

      27 Apr 2015
      Anonymous interview candidate
      New York, NY
      No offer
      Neutral experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 5 weeks. I interviewed at App Partner (New York, NY)

      Interview

Got an email within a week of applying online. Had a short 15 minute introductory phone call; all it is for is introducing you to the company, and you can ask questions. Then they gave me a programming test, asked me to finish it within a week. The test is making an iPhone app according to their guidelines (all assets provided). It is not hard if you really do make apps for the iPhone. After that I had a 30 minute interview. They just asked about the programming test and asked about any projects you have worked on. I did not make it to the final interview.

      IOS Developer Interview

      3 Dec 2016
      Anonymous interview candidate
      New York, NY
      Declined offer
      Negative experience

      Application

I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at App Partner (New York, NY) in Jun 2016

      Interview

Brief call, then coding challenge, then about 30 minute technical interview regarding the submitted code, then another 30 minute to 1 hour technical interview pseudo-panel style. Enjoyed talking with everybody there, but the salary range was unbelievably low even if it weren't in high cost of living New York City. I'm now making more than twice in an area where cost of living is also much lower.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

The coding challenge was a somewhat simple, but fairly thorough test of knowledge and skill.

      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at App Partner (New York, NY) in Feb 2016

      Interview

Initial Phone call where you must ask any questions to the recruiter. Prepare for some questions for the company and ask. Then iOS App to build which is basic has three sections. Then i had another round of phone interview where we discussed about the test and discussion and the mistakes i have made in the app. They said we will get back in 4 days. After 2 days i got an email that they want me to come in for an on site interview. This part right here had questions which are pretty basic related to iOS Which you should be able to answer However there are certain behavioral questions which had no head or tail. Random open ended questions what will you do if .. type of questions and they do not want to hear what you think. They want an answer which is in their mind. Which i think as a developer i have no capability of unless i read their mind. And i answered all the technical questions and they acknowledge as well. However they rejected me. and they said they will get back to me in 4 business days. My Interview happened on Friday and they put this job up again on Monday. And they replied to me on Friday saying a thank you email. If you do not want to hire someone 3 weeks is a lot of time and do not give them the hope.
