The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Applied Materials (Hillsboro, OR) in Feb 2011
Interview
I had 2 phone interviews, both of which were majority technical questions, and a bit of behavioral questions.
For the 1:1 interview, I had 6 back to back interviews, even during the lunch. Though only of 2 of them were core technical in nature, with questions ranging from CMOS device structure to its physics to the current problems with reducing the size. The 2nd technical interviewer asked me to present on any thing that is technical in nature.
